From Seed to Symbol — The Story Behind the Sùguǒ Logo
The SùGuǒ logo was created by Siqi, a young designer from a collective called Tea Room Atelier.
We first met by chance at a tea expo in Xiamen last autumn. She and her friends were presenting their work—soft-spoken, almost shy, a bit reserved when talking to visitors. There was something genuine about them. No performance, no overstatement—just a quiet dedication to what they were creating.
As we spent more time talking, it became clear that what they didn’t express in words, they expressed through design. Their restraint seemed to concentrate into creativity. That kind of energy felt rare and honest.
It didn’t take long to decide: SùGuǒ’s logo should be designed by Siqi. The collaboration turned out to be as effortless as it was inspiring. The design came together smoothly—so much so that the very first draft was the final one.
There was no need for multiple revisions or overthinking. The concept aligned immediately with what SùGuǒ stands for: clarity, restraint, and intention. It felt less like “designing” and more like revealing something that had already been there.
This logo is not just a visual mark—it’s a reflection of a shared mindset. Quiet, deliberate, and rooted in meaning.
